Yesterday, my advanced pottery class ventured forth on the 1 hour trek to Manhattan. We visited The Metropolitan Museum of Art to find references for our next project, which is inspired by Ancient Greek or Roman ceramics. I have been to the Met before, but for some reason this time was so much better. My best friend ~ColourTheSkyy and I got lost and ended up in the complete opposite side of the Museum. Normally, getting lost in a museum is no problem, but finding our way back was difficult since a lot of areas were closed off for exhibits being put up.. leaving our map useless. Just standing next to Still life with Banderillas and Still life with a Bottle of Rum.. was glorious. Touching Andy Warhol's work, I can not even describe how that feels. If you have not been there, please go. Especially after your journey as an artist begins. Don't forget to do some life imitating art, either.
